Using smart cameras for home security is a popular topic here at IFTTT, but we realize that outfitting a whole house with cameras can be an expensive prospect. This is why Wyze's new integration on IFTTT is so exciting.
This WiFi-enabled camera is a total steal. It only costs $20. $30 if you want the fancy new version with panning functionality. It shoots 1080p HD, and features night vision, two-way audio, and free 14-day cloud storage for your alert videos. Best of all? It has built-in smoke and CO detection, which is a first for connected cameras on IFTTT.
Once you have your Wyze cameras in place, we'll help you arm and disarm motion sensing, manage your alerts and saved videos, and more. So, let's make sure you're capturing video where you want it, when you want it, whether you're using Wyze for security or creating a cool time-lapse video of your construction project!
Motion detection
Some people stick to the same schedule most days: leave for work at 8AM, get home at 6PM, in bed no later than 10:34PM every night. Others have a more, shall we say, fluid sense of time and space. Whether you run a tight ship or prefer flying by the seat of your pants, you can now automate when Wyze starts looking for movement in your home.
Notifications or nah?
If you have a new kitten or puppy at home, you might want to know every time it ventures into the kitchen. Who knows when the cuteness (or destruction) is going to strike, right? But at the same time you might not want to get a text every time your teenager is in there looking for a snack. These Applets control when and how you get notifications, so you stay connected without getting overwhelmed.
Keep your home safe
From alerting the fire department when the smoke detector goes off to saving regularly-scheduled videos for later review, you can keep an eye on your home from afar with minimal effort.
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Wyze and IFTTT, so we're excited to see how you put us to work! Watch this space for more Applets as they are published, and if you're ready to create your own, get started here.
